    Tiara Cross is an Advanced Graduate Trainee (AGT) at CAPS, training predominantly in the Athletics department located in the Robins Center to provide easier access to services for UR student-athletes. She currently attends Virginia State University pursuing her doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology. She received a Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from Roger Williams University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Indiana State University. She aspires to help individuals obtain mental and emotional wellness by providing quality therapeutic care.

    As a Licensed Professional Counselor with nine years of mental health experience, she focuses on empowering clients to overcome life’s obstacles by providing a safe, accepting, and compassionate environment for them to heal. Tiara brings an integrative, person-centered approach to her clinical practice combining evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Tiara works within a broad range of areas including life transitions, depression, anxiety, family stress, and personal development. She prioritizes working collaboratively with clients to ensure comfort and foster growth towards effective outcomes.

    Tiara enjoys spending time with family and friends, hot and iced chai tea lattes, reading books, and rewatching Harry Potter movies in her free time.
