Taylor Cheski (pronounced chess-key) is an Advanced Graduate Trainee at UR CAPS. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Counselor Education with a specialization in College Counseling and Student Affairs from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to this she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Christopher Newport University in May 2022. Taylor uses a narrative and person-centered approach in counseling. These approaches rely heavily on showing empathy and compassion for clients while building a strong therapeutic alliance. Her clinical interests include anxiety, self-esteem building, relationships, and grief/loss.
Taylor is a member of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society (CSI) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). She spends her free time playing pickleball, attending live music shows, going on walks in the Fan District, and hanging out with her cat, Mushroom!
