Profile
Dr. Koch (pronounced "Kotch") began working at UR CAPS in July of 2017 and moved into the position of Assistant Director for Training in March 2022. Dr. Koch is dedicated to enhancing student wellness and resiliency and working with students to identify and foster their strengths and values. While she is a generalist here at CAPS, her areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, relationships, and identity exploration. Dr. Koch is also an instructor for Mental Health First Aid for the university and greatly enjoys outreach — both presenting on topics that she passionate about and increasing mental health awareness. As the AD for Training, Dr. Koch oversees the training program at CAPS, including Master's and Doctoral level trainees, and is committed to creating and maintaining a thriving training program for the next generation of counselors and psychologists.
While Dr. Koch loves living in Richmond, she is originally from Maryland, so of course, she loves crab cakes and football (Go Ravens!). Outside of her time at CAPS, Dr. Koch enjoys spending time with her family – her husband, sons, and her puggle, Tucker — cooking and baking, crafting, and traveling and exploring new areas.
