Profile
Natalia Gómez Giuliani is an Advanced Graduate Trainee at the University of Richmond’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for the 2026-2027 academic year. Natalia is currently in her fourth year of pursuing her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also earned a master's degree in counseling psychology. She holds an Interdisciplinary Baccalaureate with a concentration in Psychology from the Carlos Albizu University.
Natalia’s clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, and acculturation. Her approach to therapy centers around a belief that people grow through connection, both with themselves and with others. Drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Relational-Cultural Theory, she aims to help clients move towards increased understanding and connection with their inner experiences and towards a life aligned with what actually matters to them, while holding space for the full complexity of a person and the environment and systems they are embedded in.
Natalia was born and raised in Puerto Rico, so she takes any chance she can to be at a beach or surrounded by nature and trees - all of which are near Richmond and have made it a nice place to live while she goes to grad school. She enjoys many things, such as cooking foods that remind her of home, going to concerts, traveling, doing puzzles/building Legos, and practicing yoga.
