Profile
Nyah is currently an Advanced Graduate Trainee at CAPS and a Graduate Assistant in Residence Life & Housing, where she is striving to earn her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William & Mary. Nyah brings a holistic, integrative approach to counseling. Her clinical style blends Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, helping clients identify their strengths, challenge maladaptive thought patterns, set goals, and build agency through healthy habits. Nyah also values depth in therapy, exploring past dynamics to reconstruct core beliefs/narratives and identifying root issues in an attempt to create lasting change. Her experience as a Domestic Violence Advocate has deepened her understanding of trauma, mental health, and resilience; this has shaped her clinical interests of self-esteem, addiction, ADHD, anxiety, and adjustment.
Having lived in four different countries, Nyah embraces diverse perspectives and enjoys seeing the world through the eyes of others. She is passionate about health and new experiences, whether through travel, hiking, yoga, or trying her hand at pickleball. When she's not counseling, you can find her tending to one of her plants or getting lost in a book.
