Dr. Wilson joined the CAPS staff in fall of 2019.  He is a licensed clinical psychologist and expert in LGBTQ mental health.  He completed his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Ohio University and his postdoctoral fellowship in LGBTQ healthcare at the Milwaukee Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Prior to joining the UR CAPS staff, he worked as a staff psychologist in the Veterans Health Administration for 5 years. 

While at the Richmond VAMC in, Dr. Wilson served as the LGBTQ Veteran Care Coordinator and LGBTQ EEO Program Manager for the medical center.  Dr. Wilson has presented on LGBTQ behavioral health at local, state, and national levels and currently serves on the City of Richmond Human Rights Commission.  Throughout his career, he has also been active in leadership in the American Psychological Association and the Ohio Psychological Association.  Dr. Wilson’s passions are LGBTQ health, social justice advocacy, trauma recovery, and psychology training. 

Dr. Wilson enjoys spending time with family and friends, chasing after his two dogs, trying local restaurants, and playing kickball with his Stonewall Sports team, the Shady Pines.
