Kristina Jean-Baptiste is a Doctoral Psychology Intern at the University of Richmond Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is her third year at UR CAPS, where she continues to provide individual counseling, groups and outreach services to students. Kristina is currently in her final year of pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology at Virginia State University. She holds a Master of Science in Community Psychology from Florida A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Stetson University.
Kristina’s therapeutic orientation is grounded in humanistic principles, integrating positive psychology and a strengths-based approach to help clients identify and build upon their inherent resources. She is committed to fostering a collaborative, affirming, and culturally responsive counseling environment. Her clinical interests include body image, racial identity development, eating disorders, anxiety management, and the ways in which community influences mental health and well-being.
Originally from Florida, Kristina grew up in the Sunshine State before moving to Virginia, where she experienced snow for the first time. She enjoys musicals, art and going for walks! Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys reading, gardening, and crafting.
