    Amber Livingston began working at CAPS in January 2020. She received her Master of Education in Counselor Education at Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in College Student Development and Counseling. Amber is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision and is a LPC Resident in Counseling.

    Amber has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based counseling. She believes in building a warm, collaborative, accepting, and culturally sensitive relationship with others that sets the foundation for an individual to feel empowered and safe to create the change they want to see within themselves. She is passionate about bringing awareness of the impact of societal constructs on one’s development and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health to help give individuals the tools they need to help them in their journey throughout life.

    In her free time, she enjoys reading, seeing live music, listening to podcasts, being with loved ones, and most of all, spending time with her cat Lily.
